Torres del Paines is one of the most well known attractions of Patagonia.  The giant granite walls hang high over what is called "silence valley" or "valley of silence".  These walls were created in main part due to glacial erosion.  The mountains provide a constant changing weather pattern.  In spite of very "tough" conditions, to put it softly, many people still feel the drive to clime the granite walls.
